Nearly ten years ago, I was diagnosed with OSA. I cannot imagine what it must have been like for my wife, sleeping beside me as I tossed and turned all night for years. But Cindy began to be really concerned, when she noticed that I stopped breathing several times a night. She was so worried, she couldn’t sleep!
When the right mask was matched to me, Cindy noted the positive results immediately. In her words, I now “slept like a baby!” I began to realize how much BETTER I felt. I had a lot more energy for my 5am workouts. And it’s led to a more productive workday. From a personal perspective, I’m relieved that Cindy no longer worries about me. Happy wife, happy life!
Using a CPAP at night has changed my life. Health concerns - a rapid heartbeat and rising blood pressure - led to a recommendation for a sleep study. During my study, an average of 120 “events” per hour were recorded, events when I stopped breathing for 10 seconds or more. My doctor got me setup with a CPAP immediately.
With my CPAP, I feel so much better. I’ve noticed that even if I have a night here or there with less resting hours, I still feel great because I’ve been able to get enough REM sleep. And I don’t nod off, as soon as I sit down in front of the TV; I’m no longer exhausted at the end of the day. I even recover quicker from illnesses, like a common cold or a sinus infection. I’ve used a CPAP for two years now. I cannot imagine sleeping without one now.
